alt.ctrl.GDC is a unique showcase of alternative controllers created by independent developers. alt.ctrl.GDC exhibitors are chosen through an open submission process which is free to enter and open to all. Source.

Founded in 2014 by John Poulson, alt.ctrl.GDC is a part of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Since 2017, an audience award has been granted through the Independent Games Festival (IGF) with a cash prize of $3000.
